QUAY - SUCCESS!
The Supreme Court has delivered its judgment and the Mistley Quay is now free!
The long drawn-out battle was won with the support of very many residents of Mistley and the local area who will now be able to continue to enjoy use of the Quay as they, have for many years.

The Babergh and Mid Suffolk Local Plan is now at the next stage of its process, and we have made a representation to this consultation phase.

THE SOCIETY
The Stour and Orwell Society, set up in 2007, aims to preserve and enhance this Area of Oustanding Natural Beauty (AONB) working with local communities and the appropriate authorites. We are fortunate to live in or near to the Shotley Penisula and enjoy its delightful countryside
An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is a landscape which is considered so precious that it is protected for the nation.

APPLICATION REFUSED FOR SITE CLOSE TO EWARTON HALL
The plans would see a metal-clad barn demolished while the Dutch barn would have been retained. The homes would have consisted of one two-bedroom and four three-bedroom properties.
The vote was tight as there were six votes against and five votes for approval.
